Owls Ball - the recovery

The annual Owls Ball/Presentation evening was held Friday 18th at the Canberra Club in Civic. Despite the evening being called early at the Club, players and staff continued to have a 'quiet' couple of beverages at some of the local Civic establishments.

The awards for the evening include Afa Amosa, who was awarded both the Laurie Fisher Medal, and First Grade Best and Fairest. For the premiership winning women's team, Kamila Wihongi won Best and Fairest, and Sharleen Coomber Best Rookie.

Best and Fairest for the grades included Tom Gilmore (Colts), Robbie Lavery (2nd Grade), Dan Collins (3rd Grade), Mitchell Gillies (4th Grade) and Ian Cattle (5th Grade).

Tim Sloan-Gardner was presented with Clubman of the Year, with Josh Collins being awarded the Spirit of Rugby. Apprentice Trophy went to Michael Killiner, with Highest Point Scorer going to Liam Gallaher. Owls Best First Year Player was awarded to First Grade prop Chris Seuteni, and Club Most Improved was Alex Readford.

Club Captains Award went to our illustrious CC Clydie, who announced he will be leaving the club to pursue commitments further afield. Clydie's presence will be greatly missed at the Owls, having played with the club since he was a little tacker.

A huge thankyou to both Clydie and Tim Sloan-Gardner, and the Social Committee of Joe Ritchie, Reuban Heagney, Josh Collins, Kristy Went and the many others who contributed to making all of this year's social events a success.

A big thanks to both Clydie for running the show on Friday, and to Josh Sebbens for putting together the order of proceedings and the photo's - some great memories!

Stay tuned for the Christmas Party invite!
